Sometime I get this error associated with the "Weird Packet" message on
the console.  The next time you try it, have a console window open at
the same time.  Once I get this message, it means to me that for reasons
I do not quite understand, the computer will no longer recognize data
coming from the port and will ignore you.  I have not had the
opportunity to figure this out, so I get up restarting the machine.  

Basically, this message means that either the port you used in the
software is different than the physical port you have your cradle
plugged into, you have the problem I described above, or some other
thing is blocking the communication.  The sync should start up almost as
soon as you hit the sync button.
