I have encountered this message before (for different reasons).  I was able to 
fix it by upgrading Perl and Perl/Tk to their latest versions.  Currently I am 
running Perl v5.005_03 and Perl/Tk 800.020 with no problems.  I would suggest 
you try upgrading.
