Hi Patti,

YES, indeed, it is possible. You need to run a program called "pi-port"
on the machine where the serial port resides. This will work as a
network server for pilot-link clients (such as PilotManager), which will
redirect network-packets to the pilot via serial port.
In the PilotManager you specify ":<IP-Adress>" as a "serial port".
This works for me even over a ssh tunnel to sync my Palm at home to the
PilotManager running at my office workstation.

HOWEVER, to make pi-port run on Solaris I had to apply several patches.
Unfortunately, I don't have the sources availiable today, but will send
the patches to the group maybe tomorrow.
