[PilotMgr] Changing connection timeout?

Firstly,

Thanks to Kevin Smith for helping me figure out my last question!

Kevin, that was indeed the problem...the application times out before I can get 
to the cradle.

Now, my new question...

The default timeout to establish a serial connection to the palm is 30 seconds.  
How can this be changed?  Can it be changed?

Any assistance greatly appreciated!
