Why should I re-digitize every so often in these days??

Hi,

In these days, my palm pilot's touch pad is a bit out of synch in terms of
position. After a few days, I have to re-"Digitizer" to make it understand
correct position. Have you ever heard about this problem? Any solution for
this problem? My unit is about 1.5 years old by the way and I don't want to
buy a new one yet. thanks for your help.
