This is rather annoying, though it amuses my colleagues to no end...
I installed the QRemote program on my Palm IIIx which turns it into a rather
expensive universal remote. After delightfully annoying my wife with it, I
tried the timer function. I found that it did try to work, but apparently
IIIx IR is too weak for the environment.
I did end up with a new feature: every day at 7am, which is the time I set the
QRemote timer, the Pilot starts attempting to Hot Sync. I said start for a
reason - it continues until it succeeds, and then it continues to hot sync
until I reset it. After less than one week, the batteries are at about 40%.
I deleted QRemote, of course, but this still continued. I found and deleted,
perhaps haphazardly, a program called "Launch", but this still continues. I
only believe the problem is with QRemote, if anyone knows differently, please
let me know. My next course of action is to sync up and wipe out the memory.
