  This will not work for an Ultra 1, but for an Ultra 5 or 10 (or
  any pci based Sun machine), you can add a pci USB card to the
  system.  I've added a Belkin USB/Firewire pci combo card to
  my Ultra 10's and have no trouble using USB mice and keyboards.
  
  I have not tried a USB Palm, but Solaris 8 has no trouble dealing
  with the USB and Firewire devices I've tested. For the Firewire
  drivers you need to have Solaris 8 10/00 or later. (Alternatively
  you can just grab the Firewire packages from a 10/00 or later
  distribution and install them.
