Re: [PilotMgr] Avantgo

I also was disappointed at the inefficiency and bloat of AvantGo.

Based on what I wanted, the next best thing for me was Sitescooper
(http://sitescooper.cx/).

This is probably the most flexible solution for an avantgo like palm app
(supports multiple browsers too).

I finally decided that I only wanted to read summaries and not take too much
space, so I wrote a simple shell script to get a bunch of sites using lynx
and makedoc, which now dumps a bunch of sites into a single doc file, which I
read and then delete. It is attached for your perusal, but you probably really
want sitescooper. I will probablly use sitescooper eventually as well.

If you want to use the script, you just need some stuff on your system:
lynx (with the lynx.cfg already configured with proxy's etc.)
makedoc (binary attached)
pilot-xfer (part of the pilot-link tools that are also needed for pilotmanager)
and
a doc reader (many are available) for the pilot.

The script just gets pages and dumps them in ascii of the correct width (lynx
does this nicely) and then makes a doc file, and syncs it.
