[PilotMgr] PalmPilot Woes

Sorry about the wide distribution... however, I'm at my end here.

I lost my Palm V and got a new Palm Vx. When I go to sync it up it it says that it has never been synced or it has been reset. It then asks for the name of the unit, and I give enter one (can you set this directly on the Palm???). It confirms and moves on.

The final result is that it gives an error like this when I continue with the sync....

Error: Modification of a read-only value attempted at /usr/dist/local/exe/pilotmgr line 2618

Anyone have any clues as to what's wrong?
