[PilotMgr] Can not sync after upgrade to Palm Vx

After I upgrade from Palm Pilot PE to a new Palm VX, I can 
sync up with PilotManager. The following is the error message:

  Error: Modification of a read-only value attenmped at 
  /usr/dist/local/exe/PilotManager line 2618.
