[PilotMgr] weird packet

I have been using by palm successfully for more than 6 months.

Recently I have a problem when I try to sync to my desktop (Ultra 10).

In the Pilot Manager window I see the following messages:

02/02/100 16:27:30   Please press the Hotsync button on your Pilot cradle
02/02/100 16:27:30   Connected.
02/02/100 16:27:30   Synchronization cancelled on Pilot

In checking the Terminal window which I started Pilot Manager from I discover the message "Weird packet".

I've checked this archive and it was reported that turning off the desktop and unplugging everything and plugging everything back in resolves this message in one person's case.  I have tried it and unfortunantly it did not work for me.

Has anyone seen this before?  Any suggestions?

I am feeling withdrawal symptoms.  :(
