[PilotMgr] Help - pilotmanger refuses to sync!

For some reason this morning PilotManager has begun refusing to
sync.

pilot-xfer works fine doing a Backup.  When I do a hotsync request in
pilot manger, I get, on stderr:
Weird packet
or
Wrong packet type on queue

Within the pilotmanager log I see:
01/20/2000 11:59:44   Please press the Hotsync button on your Pilot cradle
01/20/2000 11:59:44   Connected.
01/20/2000 11:59:44   Synchronization cancelled on Pilot

If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!
