Announce: BBDB Sync With Address DB

This is to announce a very raw version of a program to sync the BBDB database
with the Address book DB on PalmPilot. I'm looking for initial testers and to
obtain feedback to make it better.

I don't have a place for the public to access the software and so request
anyone interested to drop me a line at ddutt@xxxxxxxxx and I'll send it to
you. If it is acceptable to the owner of this mailing list, I could attach a
tarred and gzip version to an email and mail it to this list. Not being
directly connected to pilotmgr, I am a little unsure of the modus operandi.

Requirements:
Perl 5 (Tested it with both 5.003 & 5.004 on Linux boxes). Also require
support for PDA module (available from pilot-link distribution).
BBDB 1.5 (Have not tested it with other versions)

Features:
o Can sync entries in both directions i.e. entries only in BBDB are created on
the Palm and vice-versa. Entries existing in both places are updated such
that the values for non-nil entries are always taken from the Palm and
   overrides what is in BBDB.
o Can handle archived entries (marks them as archived on the desktop and
   deletes them from the Palm.
o Handles deleted entries on Palm i.e. entries deleted in Address DB are also
deleted from BBDB if the entry is present in BBDB.
o Ability to not sync entries from a specific category
o Ability to assign new entries to a specified category (if not already
   assigned).

Restrictions:
o Cannot handle private entries yet
o No support in Emacs to support Address DB. For example, there is no way to
delete an entry in BBDB and hope to delete the corresponding entry in
Address DB on next sync. There are some other interesting features that can
be supported with some lisp code that is still being worked on.
