I think I was confused twice - I think it was a different conduit that
had a way to change verbosity. And I think I hadn't noticed that on the
sync with all the messages, it had prompted me and was doing a full sync
(as I'd told it to do). I thought those messages looked like something
I could comment out, but for now I'll just leave it alone.
