To whom it may concern:
I was attempting to intall/run pilot manager on one of our systems in the office when I received the following error message.
I installed pilot manager -
tar xvf latest.dev.tar
tar xvf 5.005-sun4-solaris-pkg.tar
tar xvf 5.005-sun4-solaris-tk.tar
I installed perl:
perl -v
This is perl, version 5.005_03 built for sun4-solaris

GNU General Public License, which may be found in the Perl 5.0 source kit.
Complete documentation for Perl, including FAQ lists, should be found on
this system using `man perl' or `perldoc perl'. If you have access to the
Internet, point your browser at http://www.perl.com/, the Perl Home Page.
I set the apropriate environment variable for PATH
when I ran PilotManager I received the following message:
swifty(84)% ./PilotManager
Welcome to the PilotManager setup utility. Setup will be invoked
automatically the first time you run PilotManager. After that, if you
wish to reconfigure PilotManager, you can run Setup by hand.
Setup will configure your installation of PilotManager. It will
attempt to locate an appropriate version of Perl and configure
PilotManager to use that version.
Then, it will run a series of tests on your environment to determine
whether or not you will be able to run PilotManager without
difficulty.
Tips:
- If you see a "relocation error" on any perl symbols then most
likely the binary packages you are using were not compiled for
your version of perl. Return to the PilotManager web page and
make sure you retrieve the right binary packages.

You do not have the correct binary of the Data::Dumper module
installed in either your PilotManager distribution or your
perl installation.
Please read README.porting for information about how to
download and install this module.

I was successfully able to install this version of PilotManager and PErl on two other machines, however I could not get it to work for this particular user on this particular machine.
Addtional notes:
All three machines are running:
5.7 Generic_106541-03
I installed perl as root on all three machines
The two machines I have it working on are an Ultra 1 and an Ultra 10.
The 3rd machine that I am having problems on is an Ultra 5.
I suspect it is a software problem, not hardware.
Regards, David Mahal
