You may alternativly use PerlTk-8.11-1.rpm, also avaliable from contrib.

I recommend getting only the basic package of pilotmgr and compiling it self.

I'm using RedHat 5.2 HalloWeen with Kernel 2.2.4-SMP without problems with 
PilotManager.
