SyncAB

Howdy Folks:

Here is my dilemma. I wrote a little perl script way back to suck all the
employee info out of the database via a perl script. I use department number so
I can just grab folks that are relevant to me. We have since moved to Burlington
and everyone info has changed, not to mention all the new people added.

Is there a way to update a current AB without creating duplicate entries. I
tried reloading the list under Windows, and of course it just created duplicates
of everyone. Needless to say, I backed out the 200+ records.

SyncAB says it is designed to work with the Solaris 7 Address Book. Hrm, well it
looks like the only way to get cards into this thing is to add them one at a
time. Is it possible to create a csv and import it into the Solaris 7 AB?

What I really want to accomplish is to update the entire AB that is contained
under the Sun Category on my Pilot. I tried looking at the addr.db file, but
that is basically a nightmare. I suppose I could write a sed/awk script to parse
this beast and add all my new entries, but that would be a real pain in the you
know what.

If anyone has done anything like this before, I would greatly appreciate some
help. Otherwise, I guess I will get to work on my script and let you all know
when it is done.
