I've seen recent conversation for a conduit to sync e-mail. I've
written one that works with POP3, based on SyncMail .801. It's rather
rough; it ignores the preferences on the pilot (All/Send
Only/Filter/Unread), doesn't truncate (thus choking on large files), and
it transfers attachments. It also doesn't have a graphical config yet
(everything is hard coded in the source). But, it works for me (tm).
It's also designed that the desktop is the "master," for lack of a
better term. For example, deleting a message on the pilot and not on
the desktop causes the message to be transferred to the pilot again,
while deleting the message on the workstation causes nothing to happen
to the pilot.
If there's serious interest in this, I will try to clean up the code and
release what I've done so far.
And if the programers are reading this, you guys have done a great job!
Thanks for telling us how to get your program up and running for us
RedHat 5.2 users!
