Assistance in resolving SyncMemo problem sought

When I do a SyncMemo I always get a popup telling me that the last
sync was unsuccessful and asking me if I want a fast sync or a full
sync.  Regardless of what I select, the next sync says the same thing.

Is there some place I can check to try to determine why pilotmgr thinks
that the SyncMemo is failing?
