PalmPilot - Q? Sync with SPARC20 and MS Laptop

Problem: When I sync with my SPARC20, then later the same day
         sync with Windows95 Laptop at home, appointments on PalmPilot
         do not get updated on Laptop PM??
         
         Why does this happen? 
         
         How are PalmPilot files date coded for sync with
         workstation, palmpilot, laptop??
