Lou,
I also have a Personal with the 2M upgrade and have never had this
problem. Your capacitor must be shot. Call 3Com.

#=> I have a perplexing problem. Everytime I change my
#=> Pilot's batteries, I lose all my data.
#=>
#=> The owner's manual says I have a minute to install fresh
#=> batteries while the built-in power source stores the data
#=> in memory, but this doesn't seem to work on my PalmPilot Personal
#=> (just upgraded with 2MB PalmIII OS upgrade).
#=>
#=> After installing a new set of Alkalines, I tried removing them
#=> and replacing them immediately - same results, my data was
#=> lost (good thing I have PilotManager to restore a backup!)
#=>
#=> Any help is appreciated.
#=>
#=> Thanks,
