I did this recently and called Palm's support line. They replaced it
for $100. They send you a box, you put the Pilot in and send it back,
they send the fixed Pilot. About 3-4 days turnaround by FedEx for the
whole thing. You can get a refurbished replacement quicker or you can
get yours fixed; I chose the latter and my data was still good (that
wasn't guaranteed).
