I bought an ISA card that was featured in a Linux Journal article. The
board features the original text to vice ship from the "Speak and Spell".
Any text sent throught the serial port on the board would be spoke. The
reason for being ISA is only for a power source. I also bought the
optional external power supply and assembled them in a box. The board also
has a speaker and an RCA jack.

If this thing could be adapted to power from a cigarette lighter in a car,
then software could read your e-mail to you on the road. Mind you, it
would be monotone and sound like a steretypical robot (like in the movie
War Games).
