My pilot had been out of comission for several weeks, but is now functioning. I
am trying to figure out the best strategy to get the pilot's calendar back in
sync with my CDE calendar. The two SyncCM approaches I've tried have both
caused loss of data on my CDE calendar.
FIRST ATTEMPT
Full merge: result was a massive loss of data on my Desktop calendar
04/08/98 13:21:19 6 records were created on Desktop calendar
9 records were deleted on Desktop calendar
340 duplicate records were removed on Desktop calendar
30 records were created on the Pilot
347 duplicate records were removed on the Pilot
97 duplicate records were merged on both sides
At this point I called our local network support desk and they were able to
restore my calendar.
SECOND ATTEMPT
Desktop overwrites Pilot: result was a moderate loss of data on my Desktop
calendar. I was truly surprised to see a loss of desktop data when executing a
Desktop overwrites Pilot sync.
04/08/98 16:40:52 Synchronizing using the SyncCM conduit
04/08/98 16:40:57 Using calendar 'arthurb@hsmpk12a-s1'
04/08/98 16:42:26 13 duplicate records were removed on Desktop calendar
375 records were created on the Pilot
Another call to our local network support desk.
The schedule items that were deleted from my CDE calendar in this second attempt
appear to have a common thread:
- repeating items that occur on a weekly basis
- each repeating item had at least one week where I had deleted it because the
meeting had been cancelled for that specific week
thanks,
Art
