It took a couple of readings to understand why you would want to do
this, but I do now.

A more sensible solution would be to ideally support network hotsync
with pilotmanager.  ie You make a connection from your Pilot to your
PC to Sun Desktop (which is running the network hotsync version of
pilotmanager - which doesn't exist [yet]).

I could see lots of issues here with firewalls and IP tunnelling etc.
getting in the way of this.

An alternative that might work in the mean time is to backup the
AddressDB file ftp that to your Sun Desktop and use xcopilot to
do the sync (ie a poor mans network hotsync).
