[PilotMgr] Install probs

Ok, I've been using PilotManager for several years, and I'm
trying to get it started up on a brand new workstation...

Sunblade 100 with Solaris8 and perl5.6.1 from "sunfreeware.com".

I dl'ed/unpacked latest.dev.tar.gz & 5.6-sun4-solaris-pkg.tar.gz
and 'Setup' returns:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't load
'/usr/local/src/pilotmgr/pilotmgr/lib/perl5/sun4-solaris/auto/PDA/Pilot/Pilot.so'
for module PDA::Pilot: ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/perl: fatal: relocation error:
file
/usr/local/src/pilotmgr/pilotmgr/lib/perl5/sun4-solaris/auto/PDA/Pilot/Pilot.so:
symbol Perl_call_method: referenced symbol not found at
/usr/local/lib/perl5/5.6.1/sun4-solaris/DynaLoader.pm line 206.

Compilation failed in require at (eval 12) line 1.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 12) line 1.

So, I read README.porting and it has some stuff about pilot-link...
so I dl'ed/unpacked pilot-link.0.9.3.tar.gz off moshpit... and
it wouldnt 'make' in Perl5, so I hunted in the archives and found
the "perl Makefile.PL POLLUTE=1" trick, and it finally did a
"make install" and it succeeded... went BACK to PilotManager and
it still fails with the above error...

P.S. Do I actually need a hotsync cradle plugged in at this point?
