[PilotMgr] Program features & capabilities

I need a system to sync Palm PDAs that allows multiple users to sync their
PDAs without logging in (after initial setup). That is, pop the PDA in the
cradle and hit the hotsync button (the hardware one on the cradle).

I need to be able to allow this to be done locally to the machine and also
from within our LAN (a network hotsync)

We have Palm IIIe's and Visor Deluxe's

I need to write conduits to sync the addressbook, the datebook, the todo
list, and the memos with phpgroupware. I also need to write a conduit to
sync a timesheet program to a postgresql database

Because I'm not a proficient programmer, I think it would be easiest if the
conduits could be used in an uncompiled state - like perl (which would help
speed development since I wouldn't have to figure out about header files,
etc)

Right now, it seems that coldsync has the features that I'm looking for, but
I am interested in pilot-manager and pilot-link since they seem to have a
much larger development community and there are more conduits to use as
examples. There are also more programs that use pilot-link as a back end
(are the conduits transferrable from program to program? ie pilot-manager to
jpilot)

I would love to hear any comments / advice. I couldn't find anything that
really explained the differences between coldsync and
pilot-link/pilot-manager so I'm trying to figure it out
