[PilotMgr] Sync button kills app

Does anyone have an idea why the following is happening?

When I click the sync button on PilotManager, the application blows away 
and I get the error message below.  This happened with my original 
installation of PilotManager (that I had used daily about a year ago with 
no problem, but not since); it happened with an installation I loaded 
across the net; and it happened after I totally reinstalled PilotManager on 
my system.  I did apply the patch intended for PalmOS 3.5/Solaris 
siutations, even though my Palm runs 3.1, but it had no effect.

Any advice on how to fix this would be appreciated.
