Marten,
I have been using Superpad for several years now. It uses the Memopad
db, so it syncs through pilotmanager just fine, and it supports up to
32K Memos. Some draw backs are that it supports larger files by loading
them into a buffer, which you define in the preferences, and the larger
the file, the longer it takes to load. I currently have my buffer set to
16K, and files that reach that size can take several seconds to load on
my Palm III w/ OS 3.3. Also, it is shareware, and may or may not be
available anymore. I bought it and e-mailed the author with a suggestion
or two for features. He replied that due to a computer problem, he had
lost the source code, and was unsure if he would get around to
re-writing it, although he did say it was based on the Memopad source
code that Palm makes available.
I also recently found CryptoPad, which also uses the Memopad db and
supports larger memos. It also supports encrypting memos, which SuperPad
does as well, but unlike SuperPad, CryptoPad stores encrypted memos in a
seperate database. As long as you don't encrypt any memos w/CryptoPad,
then it should do what you want just fine.
