Edit Makefile.PL and add in an extra option, 'POLLUTE' => '1'. Then
perl Makefile.PL and make.

This has been broken for quite a while, but the current pilot-link
maintainer seems to be more interested in code reformats (aka "fixing
indentation") than actual bugfixes at present.
