I'm curious why this works in windows and not under linux (my platform of
choice; I would suspect that the same is true for Sun's): When I start a
hotsync under windows, I do NOT have to press the button on the cradle. I
assume this is because it raises some leads on the wire, that wake up the
palm (or in my case handspring).
Any idea why this doesn't happen? Is it simply because no one has figured out
which lead? Is it simply because no one has written the 'driver' for this? Or
is there some techincal reason we don't have this in unix?
Also, I would think it would be usefull to have PilotManager in GUI mode, yet
also in 'always listen' mode (maybe a check-box at the top next to the
hot-sync button??), so that I could just hit the button on the cradle. I'm
not very fond of the daemon mode. Maybe I should write this...
