How did you test that? I'm not aware of a ping-type
program for the palm... The Palm OS however handles
ICMP echo requests correctly, so if you can't ping the
palm from a computer at the other end of the line, you
are likely to have a problem.

The palm ppp stack uses the point-to-point partner
as its default gateway, just like a normal pppd with
the 'defaultroute' option set.

I am very happy with Proxiweb and Proximail, both
available on proxinet.com. Besides, there is Top Gun
Telnet and Ssh, and a wealth of IP-aware software. Even an
nmap port to the palm is underway..
