Having noticed that a VNC client was available for the palm on the main VNC
site, I downloaded it and tried out using X apps on my linux box via the
client - not bad, but I didn't get much of a test done before the batteries
on my palm (which were low) forced me to stop.
I have been using a VNC client on my linux laptop (via modempool) as my main
method of telcommuting, since remote X apps seem to run more efficiently over
the low bandwidth that way, and since the desktop saves it's state, regardless
of whether I exit or lose the connection. But that is with a PCMCIA modem, and
I have been unable to establish PPP with the modempool via the wireless modem
that I also use with my palm - so I have not been able to test running Solaris
desktop apps on the pilot just yet - has anyone else tried this?
(Yes I'm sure that it would involve a lot of scrolling around the screen! :-)).
John
