(Not a Palmmgr issue).
For those of who ready to upgrade a Palm V to OS 3.3, you need to be made
aware of the following problem:
as you go through the installation/upgrade process, you could get the message
"Palm OS Software Upgrade Utility: Encountered an unexpected error while
preparing to preform the HotSync operation. The system cannot find the path
specified".
What it really means is that the Pilot is not responding. What needs to be
done is to put the Palm V in debug mode, and everything is then working fine.
Those are instructions from the Palm support people.
To put the Pilot in debug: While the pilot being ON, push the scroll down,
and while keeping it down, push the reset in the back. Release the reset
and THEN release the scroll.
You should get the Palm startup screen, but with a flashing dot on the top
left corner. Leave it as this while you upgrade.
By the end of the process, the Pilot will need to be restarted, going back
to the regular mode of operation.
I did not have any other issue, except that you lose most of your applications
so get ready to load them back.
Regards
Jean
