Problem with hotsyncs...

Hi,

I'm a fairly new user and I'm having trouble with hotsyncs. As the hotsync is in progress, I'm getting a number (50+) of messages stating things like:

"Archive 1999-08-20 09:51:43: Missing manifest file.
 Please delete by hand"

How do fix this/find the data that needs to be deleted and deleted?

Once the hotsync is complete, I've found lately that my calendar has not 
been updated. I've tried completely deleting the pilotmgr directory and 
all the files/dirs contained in it and reinstalling the software, but so 
far with no change.

I'm sure that I've screwed up something somewhere, but I have no idea where? 
Has anyone had a similar problem and if so, how did you fix it?
