Hot sync button priority

Hello, all.

I recently had to replace my Palm IIIx because I dropped
it and broke the matrix-glass assembly.  They sent me a
reconditioned unit and it appears to work differently
with regard to the sync.

With my old IIIx, I could click on the sync button on
the Pilotmanager window, then just push the Hot Sync
button on the cradle and things would work properly.

Now I find that I must push the "local sync" icon on
the IIIx screen to get it to sync.  The Hot sync
button on the cradle has no effect.

Am I missing a configuration option?
