I haven't tried EditAB, but have been trying SyncAB with Solaris 7's address
manager (aptly named "sdtname").
There seem to be some minor incompatibilities. My initial sync copied my pilot
address book into separate vCard files, as sdtname requires. However, when I
use sdtname to say, lookup someone and compose an email to them (by clicking on
the email icon), it complains about "Unsaved changes for <name>". If I then
click "save" under the Card menu, a subsequent attempt to compose an email
works, but looking at the underlying vCard file reveals that it's now different
(trailing semicolons deleted; newlines added, etc). In addition, going to
another address entry and then back to the one I just saved, sdtname again
starts complaining about "Unsaved changes...".
Has anyone experienced this? Is it due to some problem(s) with the conversion
in SyncAB, problem(s) with sdtname, or something else? I dare not try to sync
any AB changes back onto my palm!
