Re: Palm/Wireless Comparison Report

RE: Palm VII

Errr, or to suspecting techies also...

Actually I bought two (one for my daughter in Santa Cruz) when they
first shipped to Metro NY. My units were at List $599 and were
obtained from a high-tech source, Bloomindale's Mens Accessories.

Web Clipping has worked VERY well for the PQA's that I use, OAG, E-Trade,
various News, Travelocity, United, UPS (FREE CASE + AIRBILL!!), Weather,
and WSJ. The data limitation isn't bad, the data is pretty condensed if
the PQA mechanism is done correctly. IMessenger is pretty useful for
notes and alerts; certainly this is NOT a web browser or mechanism for
heavy e-mail; for a integrated information appliance it's GREAT. $25
a month is reasonable to me, didn't even use full 150K after usual
"showing the toy" tour...

Signing up as a developer (FREE) gives access to what's happening with future
PQA mechanisms. The API question, local mode, etc. are all about the
same place Java was several months after launch...

My hope is that Palm VII, WAP, whatever develops to where
information connectivity really frees us from the desk/screen/keyboard
model, certainly Bill is out buying wireless everywhere....
