sendmail conduit

I just installed pilotmanager 1.107 relatively painlessly!!  Kewl!!

I noticed the inclusion of a "Sendmail" conduit, but I can't find
any documentation on how it's used.  Can someone point me to
any info on how to use the sendmail conduit?

I'm under the impression that it takes memo entries and pipes them
to the unix sendmail pgm, but I don't see how to generate the mail
messages on the pilot end.  What format do they have to have? how to
make sure some other memo isn't mistakenly mailed out to the world,
etc.
