I've seen this problem a few times as well; it usually occurs when (for
whatever reason) the netplan daemon has died on my box. However, I've had
it a couple of times with a healthy netplan daemon as well -- I _guess_ the
problem is due to a combination of network lag and a lot of Plan entries,
so that the Palm times out and gives up before PilotManager has finished
retrieving the records from netplan.  I could be completely wrong, though;
I haven't actually tried debugging the problem.

What's annoying about this scenario is that PilotManager then completely
stops responding, so the only solution is to kill it and restart. Is there
any chance of making it poll the "Cancel" button every so often while it's
syncing, so that we can break out of this situation?

Thanks,
Chris.
