I'm getting the above error message on my console repeatedly when I
try to sync my Palm III. (It was preceded by the message "wierd
packet").
Two possible causes:
- my Pilot case cracked, and 3COM sent me a new one. I sync on both
my PC (for everything) and my Solaris Workstation (for calendar
appointments). This is the first time I have tried to sync with
solaris.
- When I started the sync, I unthinkingly removed the pilot from the
cradle in the middle of the sync (someone came into my office and
asked if I was free for a meeting, and I blindly picked up my Pilot to
look at the date). I cancelled the sync on the pilot, but the
PilotManager was wedged and I had to kill the process. I'm not sure
if the problem was going on during that first sync, or if the
interuption caused the problem.
I just restarted the pilot manager, and get the following. Both the
pilot and the desktop think that a connection has been made, though
the pilot then sends me a dialog box about the connection being
broken. The console shows:
%PilotManager &
[1] 22902
% X connection to :0.0 broken (explicit kill or server shutdown).
Weird packet
and now my pilotmanager application is wedged.
Will I ever be able to sync again?
