You should use cardscan to scan in the data and make corrections, and then 
import that data into your addressbook system.  The Palm will only sync with one 
application, so if you have another address application, such as Time and Chaos, 
then perform a data import to your primary application and perform the sync.

If you don't currently use a desktop addressbook application, then it shouldn't 
be an issue and you can use cardscan as that application.
