Re: Next gen Palm xxx



The Palm VII isn't really the next generation Palm -- it's a Palm III
with wireless connectivity at a high price.  It looks like they're
going for a corporate market here, letting people get database
information on the fly and integrating with a pager (I wrote a
slightly incendiary post to one of the newsgroups right after I read
the specs...  I need to post a partial retraction...).

The original developers have left 3Com and formed a company called
HandStamp which has licensed PalmOS.  From 3Com's actions in creating
the Palm VII, and what little HandStamp has on their web page, my guess
is that for most of us, it's HandStamp's products we want to be
looking at.

Which is no help at all to you.  Personally, if my Professional died
today, I'd have a Palm III tomorrow and worry about future hardware
when it comes out.
