Pilot, but not PilotMgr, question

I sent this out early this morning, but never saw it come back. If the
second msg gets unwedged from where ever it is, I apologize in advance
for the duplicate:

This is a question about my pilot, but not pilot manager. It seemed that this
list would have the most applicable knowledge to answer this:

I upgraded my pilot 1000 with the 2MB memory board/PalmOS 3.0 a while ago
(When the upgrade first came out). Since then, my pilot has been going
through batteries at about a set every week and a half. With the 1MB
board and PalmOS 2.0.x, I typically got up to 1 1/2 to 2 months of life
out of my batteries.

I noticed a peculiarity yesterday. You know that hiss/buzz that you can
hear if you put the pilot up to your ear while it is on? Well, found out
yesterday, that with the 3.0 board, that hiss/buzz continues even when the
unit is off. It's a little bit quieter, but not by much.

I put my old 1MB board (PalmOS2.0) back in the unit, and it doesn't seem
to exibit the same problem.

Is the increased battery drain, as well as unit activity, normal under the
3.0 PalmOS or do I have a problem with my upgrade board?

TIA

-=G
