Since as I reported last week my pilotmgr was no longer working, I decided
to attempt to build a fresh copy of pilotmgr.
Platform: UltraSPARC, Solaris 2.6, Sun c compiler, perl 5.005_52, Tk800.011
I built and installed a new version of pilot-link.
I then try to run Pilotmgr 1.106's PilotManager command. I get:
Locating Perl 5...
Perl 5 found [at /ldatae/bin/perl]
Please wait...
Configuring PilotManager...
You do not have the correct binary of the Tk module
installed in either your PilotManager distribution or your
perl installation.
Please read README.porting for information about how to
download and install this module.
Error details:

Now, I build Tk myself today, so I know that the binary version of Tk that
I have matches my perl. I also build PDA::Pilot using my perl so it matches.
When I asked on this mailing list a couple weeks ago about incompatibilities
with the newest perls the general consensus was that things should be fine.
Has anyone else figured out what needs to change in Pilotmanager to get
this to work? Do I need to _delete_ the binary version of lib/* for
perl Tk to get this to work?
.......
Later after I deleted most of the two binary perl directory trees that
were unpacked as part of the install instructions I think that Setup works.
What I worry about though is whether there were pilotmgr related
modifications or modules in those files.
Could someone give me a clue on this topic?
Finally, where does one install the various .pm and .pl files in the contrib
directory? Is there a particular location? Is there something I need
to do so that pilotmgr recognizes the various new 'conduits'?
