I used to have 5.003, I switched to 5.004p4 a few days ago - both compiled 
right out fo the box.  I am in the process of installing PilotManager - If you
want I can offer you to download my complete Perl-directory. It's all compiled
with gcc 2.8.0 for Solaris 2.6 x86.  It's also quite large ;-).
