perl was dumping core in pTk for me in releases for me 12, 13, 14 
	=> No GUI, cmdline sync 
release 15 was ok => GUI and cmdline sync
release 15a has perl dumping core for both GUI and cmdline sync dumping core.

Platforms: Ultra 5, 60 and 1

Has anyone tried recompiling under 15/15a to see if this fixes the problem?
