Boostrapping Pilot-link?

I am shortly off on vacation (to China) and my easiest bet to backup 
my Pilot will be to visit a local office and copy the files to a 
Sparc... but of course the machine will lack my installation of 
pilot-link etc.

Is it practical to carry pilot-xfer in my Pilot and use a terminal
program to transfer it to the Sparc before invoking it to backup the
databases? If so, how, which terminal program, what to do on Solaris end
to interface with serial port, etc.
