Ray,

I had one of these, too.  It was caused by a combination of editing and 
synchronizations where I ended up with a calendar entry on the Pilot which was 
not being displayed (don't exactly know why, but I couldn't delete it); but 
wouldn't sync because of an invalid value.

My solution was:

After a synchronization where I was confident the Sun calendar was complete and 
up-to-date, I performed a one-time-only "desktop overwrites Pilot" calendar 
sync.  That eliminated the erroneous entry on the Pilot and everything has been 
fine since.
