Re: Sync'ing from CM to Pilot

i don't think that either solutions would work unless i'm missing
something. i don't want to put personal stuff (regardless of
private on my CM calendar at work); it would just be overwhelming (kid's swim
lessons, gyno appt for wife, etc :).

And the solution of write-protect won't work, i don't think. i want to
sync from the CM to the Pilot. Currently, that deletes the Pilot's
calendar entries.

thanks for the advice, though. I'm still looking. Anyone?

I haven't tried this yet, but would it work to simply set the "private" flag on
the personal entries? Will SyncCM mark the entry as private in Calendar Manager?

I haven't actually used PilotManager to sync yet, but I've been looking
for this sort of feature as well, and what I've seen in the documentation
so far are:

1. There is a write-protect option, but it has some drawbacks.

You can also additionally write-protect either the Calendar Manager or
the Pilot (or both, although that's kind of useless). This will
prevent SyncCM from writing to the calendar in question. This may not
do exactly what you want, however. If you write-protect the Pilot and
synchronize it will copy all Pilot appointments onto the Calendar
Manager. However, if you subsequently remove an appointment from the
Calendar Manager, it will not be recreated there. If at any time after
this you turn off write-protection on the Pilot, that appointment will
be deleted on the Pilot (and any other calendar manager apppointments
will be added to the system).

2. There is a "private" appointment option, but I'm not sure how this
works since I haven't tried it. It might still write your personal
appointments to the Sun, but mark it with the "others see nothing"
option. If you don't want it written to the Sun at all, whether or not
average users can read it, then this may not work...?
